Parties fight over $500k renovation deal that was done over WhatsApp

Imagine agreeing and assigning a major renovation work through a WhatsApp chat group without putting any key terms in writing or even discussing the cost of the project, which turns out to be over $500,000.
Not surprisingly, the parties involved – the owner of a private club and the interior designer of the renovation – eventually ended up at the High Court because each side accused the other of not fulfilling their end of the deal.
